Inner Peace & Enlightenment Therapy

Creating transcendent balance to illuminate and awaken the deepest peace within

Curious about Therapy?

Q: What will my first session be like?

A: Your first session is a gentle, welcoming space to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what support feels right for you. Think of it as a calm introduction to your journey.

Q: How long does it usually take to feel a shift?

A: Healing isn't instant; sometimes small changes happen quickly, and other times it's a gradual process. Consistency is key, and we'll celebrate every step forward along the way.

Q: How often should I come to sessions?

A: Most clients start with weekly sessions, but we’ll decide together what works best for your needs, schedule, and pace of growth.

Q: How will I know if therapy is helping me?

A: You may notice changes in how you feel, think, or relate to yourself and others. We’ll check in regularly to see what’s working and adjust as needed; therapy is a collaboration.

Q: What kinds of approaches or tools do you use?

A: I use a mix of approaches from talk therapy and trauma-focused methods to somatic, mindfulness, EMDR, and tarot-informed exploration. We’ll tailor everything to fit you and your journey. See Therapeutic Services for a comprehensive list.

Q: Can we meet virtually?

A: Yes! I offer secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual sessions for clients who are in Virginia.

Q: How do you keep my information safe and private?

A: Your privacy is very important. I use HIPAA-compliant platforms like SimplePractice and a Gmail account with a signed BAA. Everything we share is confidential.

Q: What should I do if I feel stuck or overwhelmed between sessions?

A: That’s completely normal. We’ll work on coping strategies together in sessions, and you’re always welcome to reach out through secure channels if you need guidance or support. Please note that I may not be able to respond immediately. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Q: How do I schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments?

A: You can manage your appointments easily through SimplePractice. If you need any help, I’m happy to guide you. Please note that sessions cannot be canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled time, and any changes during that window should be made by reaching out to me via email.

Q: How do you work with trauma, anxiety, depression, or other challenges?

A: I provide trauma-informed, compassionate care using approaches tailored to your needs. Together, we’ll find strategies that help you feel safe, supported, and empowered.

Q: Are you LGBTQ+, trans, or kink/poly affirming?

A: Yes! I offer affirming, nonjudgmental support for LGBTQ+ clients, poly and kink communities, and sex-positive care.

Q: Do you see individuals, couples, or families?

A: I primarily work with individuals, but I’m happy to discuss what kind of support would be most helpful for your situation and can offer referrals.

Q: How do fees and insurance work?

A: Fees vary by session type. I accept many major insurances and Medicaid MCOs in Virginia, contact me or check the Insurance page for details.

Q: Can I reach out between sessions if I need support?

A: You can reach me through secure, HIPAA-compliant channels if something urgent comes up, and we’ll navigate it together. Please note that my Google number is not HIPAA-compliant, so do not share any personal health information (PHI) there.

Q: How do I know if therapy is the right fit for me?

A: Therapy is a personal journey, and it’s normal to wonder about fit. The first session is a chance to see if we click/vibe and you’re always welcome to explore what feels best for you.
